The controversial fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is just two months away.
The former heavyweight champion was scheduled to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer in July, but an ulcer flare caused him to postpone the showdown.
“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare, my doctor has recommended that I ease up on my training for a few weeks to rest and recover.
My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will soon be back to my full training program. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but eventually you will be knocked out and out of boxing forever. I appreciate everyone’s patience and I can’t wait to put on an unforgettable performance later this year.”
The 58-year-old boxer will now face Paul, who is thirty years his junior, in November. While many have expressed concern about Tyson, who is returning to the ring for a professional fight for the first time in over twenty years, former three-weight world champion James Toney has no such concerns about the fight.
Speaking to ProBoxing fans, Toney, who famously stopped Evander Holyfield in 2003, predicts a quick night of work for the heavyweight legend.
“You should slap yourself for asking who wins. You know damn well Mike will knock that bastard out in 30 seconds.”
