She’s known for making an entrance, whether it’s a red carpet or stage, but as far as pregnancy reveals go, Cardi B knows how to make heads turn. Congratulations are now in order for the Grammy-winning rapper who announced that she is expecting her second child with Offset, one-third of Migos, whom she reconciled with in November of last year after a brief period apart.

Not one to reveal the news quietly, Cardi B appeared at the recent BET Awards in Los Angeles. Though she attended as a guest, nominated for five awards, including that of Video of the Year for her chart-topping hit “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion, it was a surprise performance that really captivated audiences and stole headlines around the world. Appearing with rap trio Migos, Cardi performed in a crystal-embellished Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit with a sheer panel to highlight her baby bump.

The announcement marks Cardi’s second pregnancy. She and Offset first welcomed their child Kulture Kiari Cephus in 2018 and the mother and daughter have already graced covers of Vogue, being shot by none other than famed legendary photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Following her appearance on stage with Migos, Cardi then took to Instagram and Twitter to confirm the news, sharing an incredible image by photographers AB+DM. In the photographs, Cardi looks ever the royal, strong woman she is. the styling is credited to the rapper’s long-time stylist Kollin Carter who dressed Cardi in a sculptural breastplate by Pakistani artist and designer, Misha Japanwala that was custom-made for the occasion.

There’s also an image of Cardi and Kulture wearing matching white headdresses. “I just know these two will love each other so much and argue so much since they’re three years apart,” she wrote in the caption. “But one thing for sure is they’ll have each other’s back like no one else ever will.”

Cardi might be a goddess onstage and in her performances, but it’s clear from her caption and the way she dotes on Kulture that first and foremost, she’s a loving mum and to see her family expand is an incredibly exciting journey. She added, “We listened to each other, communicated, prayed and then God blessed us and our family with another little blessing. Our home feels so blissful and very busy but we are ready and so happy!! Thank you soo much everyone for the congrats and well wishes.”
