There is a major update regarding the Golden State Warriors’ interest in Chicago Bulls’ Nikola Vucevic.
The Chicago Bulls are believed to be open to the idea of parting ways with Nikola Vucevic despite the veteran center’s remarkable start to the season.
In recent years, it had looked like Vucevic was on the decline and as a result, there was not believed to be any trade interest in him over the summer.
Many teams around the league might be regretting not trading for Vucevic in the summer though as he has proven the doubters wrong with his performances this season.
Vucevic is averaging 20.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season while putting up career-high shooting numbers of 55.6% from the field and 42.2% from the three-point range.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Vucevic. A lot of teams could do with his experience, output and efficiency.
According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Golden State Warriors have continued their due diligence on the trade market and inquired about potential frontcourt upgrades, including Nikola Vucevic, John Collins, Jonas Valanciunas, and Robert Williams. On the other hand, the chances of them acquiring previously reported wing targets such as Jimmy Butler and Cam Johnson have decreased.
The belief is that it would take a first-round pick to acquire Vucevic from the Bulls in a trade.
Someone like Vucevic would certainly bring a lot to the table for the Warriors. After a brilliant start to the season, which saw them reach the top of the West, they have struggled badly in recent weeks and slipped down to 11th with a 20-20 record.
