According to CNN on December 28, the newly discovered mummy is pharaoh Amenhotep I, who ruled Egypt for 21 years from 1525 to 1504 BC.
The mummy was found in 1881, but because it was so old, archaeologists did not dare to open it for research.

Dr. Sahar Saleem, professor of radiology at Cairo University, said the pharaoh’s mummy was well preserved and thanks to the aforementioned digital technology, scientists can see details inside without need to remove the mask layer and the outer bandage layer.

Scientists determined that Amenhotep I was 169 cm tall and died at the age of 35. The pharaoh was circumcised and had strong teeth. There were 30 amulets and a special gold bracelet found in the mummy’s covering. Live Science quoted Ms. Saleem as saying that ancient Egyptians often wore this gold bracelet at their waist.

According to scientists, pharaoh Amenhotep I had a pointed chin, a small narrow nose, curly hair and slightly protruding upper teeth. The pharaoh is said to have a similar face to his father Ahmose I.
No injuries that led to death were found on the mummy. However, scientists discovered many injuries after burial, possibly caused by ancient grave robbers.

According to Ms. Saleem, priests in the dynasty more than four centuries later restored the mummy and repaired the injuries caused by tomb robbers.
