Cristiano Ronaldo made a swift exit from the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Saturday, leaving behind his silver medal after Al Nassr’s 4-1 defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final.
Despite scoring the opening goal, Ronaldo’s team was overwhelmed by Al-Hilal, who scored four goals in the second half.
Ronaldo’s frustration was evident as he gestured to his teammates, suggesting they had been “sleeping” during the game.
After the final whistle, he skipped the medal ceremony and walked out of the stadium empty-handed.
Notably, Ronaldo’s last officially recognised title win was the Italian Cup with Juventus in 2021.
FIFA has not recognized his victory with Al Nassr in the 2023 Arab Club Championship Cup as a legitimate championship.
Ronaldo’s attitude and devotion to his team have come under scrutiny in light of this occurrence, particularly in the face of defeat.
