Actor and wrestler Dwayne Johnson has once again proved that he’s also a business mogul after launching his Teremana Tequila in the United Kingdom.
Johnson is currently back at work on the set of his latest project, where he portrays former UFC Heavyweight Champion Mark Kerr in the biopic, The Smashing Machine.
However, ‘The Rock’ has still managed to find time to bring his esteemed drink across the pond, having originally founded the brand back in 2020.
Speaking about the launch, Johnson said: ‘To now be able to ‘share the Mana’ with the UK is a privilege.
‘Launching Teremana Tequila in the UK is a new chapter for us in creating this legacy brand I envisioned. The UK is a special place for me, and I can’t wait to ‘Share the Mana’ over many Teremana® toasts in years to come.’
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently launched his Teremana Tequila brand in UK stores
Teremana Blanco – the variant currently available – features tasting notes of bright, fresh citrus with roasted agave, tropical fruit, and a hint of lemongrass, with a smooth, fresh finish.
Meanwhile, Teremana Reposado – which has rich notes with roasted agave, oak, vanilla, spices, and tropical fruit – and Teremana Anejo – which has a lightly sweet and complex finish – will be hitting UK stores later this month.
As revealed by the Teremana team, they start with 100 per cent fully mature, Blue Weber Agave plants. Once harvested, the heart of the plant, or ‘piñas’, are slow roasted at low temperatures in small traditional brick ovens for 3 days and distilled in handmade 100% copper pot stills, for a smooth finish.
Speaking on the release, Jonathan Dennys, Head of Portfolio at Mast-Jägermeister UK, adds: ‘We’re really excited to launch Teremana Tequila in the UK, following the success we’ve seen in the US, and share the Mana in time for Summer!
‘The premium tequila category, as a whole, is continuing to develop and grow as consumers discover the variety of different brands and styles available, but we hope to bring something special – ultimately with the aim of helping bring people together.’
‘The Rock’ admitted that it’s a ‘privilege’ to bring the drink to UK soil throughout the summer
The premium, small-batch tequila was originally founded by Johnson in 2020, where he played an active role in selecting the final liquid
Back in May, Johnson shared footage of himself training in mixed martial arts on social media as he geared up for his role as Kerr in the biopic.
In a series of clips posted to his 397 million Instagram followers, the 52-year-old can be seen kicking pads, practising takedowns and working on his ground-and-pound inside a ring.
The Rock recently enjoyed a successful return to professional wrestling, taking part in a tag-team match alongside Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
His age-defying performances inside the WWE ring led to fans calling for a more long-term return to the squared circle.
