Solo artists who once held the record for the number of sold-out shows such as Madonna, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake have all had to give way to country music princess Taylor Swift.
Previously, famous stars like Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Briney Spears held the record with 7 or 8 sold-out shows at an event, but Taylor surpassed them with 11. This amazing feat was recorded during her “2013 Red Tour” , specifically at the Staples Center, Los Angeles – where she stopped with plans to hold 4 shows from August 19 to August 24.
On August 19, Taylor surpassed Madonna and Timberlake with 8 sold-out shows. And without any difficulty, she continued to surpass Britney with an explosive show that left no empty seats. And the numbers did not stop there when Taylor had 2 more shows on August 23 and 24 to put her name in the lead with a record of 11 sold-out shows in an event for a solo singer.
Just counting the 4 shows held in Los Angeles, the sweet voice of Taylor Swift attracted 1,650,000 people to enjoy and immerse themselves in the music. This is not only an impressive number but also a challenge for all solo singers who intend to break Taylor’s record.
And of course, 11 is certainly not the highest number Taylor can hold for this record. Given her extraordinary appeal, it would be no surprise if the “2013 Red Tour” continued to sell out 12, 13, or whatever.
