Sonny and Carly: The Unforgivable Choices in General Hospital
General Hospital has always thrived on its complex characters and dramatic twists, but lately, Sonny and Carly have left fans feeling outraged and frustrated. Sonny, once hailed as a hero by many, has fallen from grace, and Carly, well, sheâs behaving like the “Queen of the world,” as usual, with little concern for anyone but herself. Their actionsâor lack thereofâare unforgivable, especially when it comes to Alexis and her unjust suffering.
Letâs start with Sonny. The fact that he waited so long to confess his role in the situation is inexcusable. Alexis, a woman who has faced more than her fair share of struggles, was left to rot in prison while Sonny sat in silence. If Sonny truly cared about Alexis or had any shred of decency left, he would have spoken up immediately. Instead, he allowed her to suffer, proving that his heroic facade is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Sonny has often been portrayed as a complex anti-hero, but in this case, his actions were purely selfish. The longer he waited, the more Alexis paid the price, and thatâs something fans simply canât overlook.
Now, onto Carly, whose behavior has been nothing short of appalling. Carly has always carried herself with a sense of entitlement, strutting around as if sheâs untouchable. But her failure to speak up about Alexis being wrongfully imprisoned takes her selfishness to a whole new level. Instead of stepping up and doing the right thing, Carly has been busy flirting, manipulating, and playing her usual role as Port Charles’ reigning queen, with zero regard for the consequences of her silence.
If Carly thinks she can walk away from her part in putting Alexis behind bars and not face any backlash, sheâs sorely mistaken. Her silence is a direct result of her obsession with self-preservation. Carlyâs number one priority has always been saving herself, and itâs beyond frustrating to watch her continue this pattern while someone else suffers for her cowardice.
And while Iâm not the biggest fan of Alexis, itâs hard to ignore the injustice sheâs been forced to endure. Carlyâs indifference toward Alexisâ suffering only amplifies how self-centered and morally bankrupt she truly is. The fact that Carly has shown no empathy, no remorse, and no desire to make things right is infuriating. If General Hospital allows Carly to walk away from this unscathed, it will feel like a slap in the face to loyal viewers. Carlyâs lack of accountability and Sonnyâs delayed confession both deserve severe consequences.
Frankly, if GH doesn’t hold these characters accountable, itâs no wonder fans are calling for a boycott. How can a show built on moral conflicts allow its leading characters to commit such unforgivable acts without paying the price? If Sonny and Carly are allowed to carry on without any repercussions, it will be a clear message that justice is selective in Port Charles.
In the end, this storyline has revealed the worst in both Sonny and Carly, and itâs a reminder that sometimes the people we root for the hardest are the ones who disappoint us the most. If GH doesnât correct this narrative soon, fans wonât be so forgiving, and neither should they be.
