MU released a statement about the very serious injury of new player Leny Yoro, confirming that he had just had surgery and will have to rest for 3 months.
Manchester United have confirmed that Leny Yoro has undergone surgery and the 18-year-old centre-back will be out for three months due to a serious injury. Manchester United signed Yoro from Lille in a deal worth over £50 million. After just two games for Manchester United, Yoro suffered a serious leg injury.
(PLO)- Man City is close to selling 2022 World Cup champion from Argentina Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid for a club record fee, which means Arsenal has failed in this transfer.
French teenage defender Yoro underwent successful surgery on Monday. Leny Yoro limped off the pitch during Manchester United’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Arsenal in the United States.
MU released a statement on Yoro’s injury: “Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has today successfully undergone surgery on a foot injury. The player, who was signed from Lille, was injured in our recent friendly against Arsenal in Los Angeles, USA. Yoro’s rehabilitation is now underway and we expect the 18-year-old to return to training in approximately three months’ time.”
United beat Real Madrid to Yoro’s signature last month when they completed a deal worth up to £58.7m. The centre-back joined from Lille and signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford. Yoro will be hoping to make a good start to his Premier League career after being impressed by United’s project.
Leny Yoro shared after rejecting Real Madrid to join MU: “Signing for a club of stature and ambition like Manchester United at the beginning of my career is an extremely great honor.
Since my first conversations with the club, they have outlined a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and have shown a great deal of interest in me and my family.
I know the history of young players at Manchester United and feel this could be the perfect place to fulfil my potential and achieve my ambitions, alongside my new team-mates. I can’t wait to get started.”
Whether Yoro is injured or not, United are keen to sign another centre-back before the summer transfer window closes. With Yoro out until at least November, United needing to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt could be imperative.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag says the club’s transfer plans will not change despite Rasmus Hojlund also being ruled out for six weeks with an injury. “No. This doesn’t change anything,” Ten Hag said. “We have a plan and we stick to the plan. We will execute the plan, the way we think.”
