Leny Yoro will indeed be out for a lot of Manchester United’s games early in the season.
Man Utd have confirmed that Leny Yoro has undergone successful surgery on a foot injury. The 18-year-old will be back in around three months.
As such, Yoro will have to take a long break and miss the early stages of the season. Previously, Leny Yoro limped off the field in Man Utd’s 1-2 defeat to Arsenal in the US. The situation became worse when Yoro was forced to use crutches to move.
Coach Erik ten Hag’s team will start the 2024/25 season against Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10, and start the Premier League against Fulham on August 17.
Yoro is likely to sit out at least the first 10 Premier League games, including games against Liverpool, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Chelsea.
If his recovery is completed on schedule, Yoro could be available for selection when Man Utd host Leicester City at Old Trafford on November 9.
However, he will also miss one or two Carabao Cup matches, as well as at least the opening three games of the 2024/25 Europa League.
Thus, Yoro could miss at least the first 15 matches of the season, in all competitions.
