Earlier this summer, Man Utd surprised everyone by signing striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36.5 million. However, this was a deal that left club legend Paul Scholes skeptical and he thought Man Utd needed to buy a more classy striker to rotate with Hojlund.

Scholes said: “I think Hojlund is really good, but he was brought to this country at a very young age and he had to be the No 9 for Man Utd, which is an iconic role. You’re chasing players who can score great goals and win league titles.
“For me, he (Hojlund) should have been a second or third striker at a big club. Now they have brought him to Zirkzee and I have to be honest, I have never seen him play. Marcus can play as a centre-forward but he is much better on the left and I think scoring goals will be a problem this season.”
