As the latest man tasked with bringing glory to Man United, Amorim knows the mountain he has to climb.
On MUTV channel, Ruben Amorim emphasized: “Many people talk about the 3-4-3, 4-3-3… formations, but I think, as a member of MU, we don’t need to care about the squad system yet.
It’s the players’ personalities, how they see the club. We need to focus on that before thinking about how to play, how to press.
The most important thing for me right now is to create the principles, identity and character that MU had in the past.
In my opinion, this is the core because when working in a united group, the talents of each individual will be promoted.
The way we fight, the way we play, the personality on the pitch, in short, Manchester United must have an identity. Everyone thinks the same, runs, plays football and enjoys it.
Everyone wants to win. I want to win with my players and the fans. But winning with an identity and an idea, that’s what I’m always focused on.”
Amorim added: “We know we need time, but MU must win immediately.
Again, the most important thing for me is identity. So from day one, MU will start with its own identity.
Of course, we will prepare in terms of gameplay, how to apply pressure, the smallest things, in as much detail as possible.”
