In an attempt to become “Rich Forever,” Rick Ross is adamant about becoming wealthy forever. To save a whopping $1 million (£708,000) on landscaping services, he mows his own large lawn.

Famed for songs like “Aston Martin Music,” the well-known rapper is now the proud owner of a large Georgian estate that was once owned by boxer Evander Holyfield. The property was purchased in 2014 for a significant $5.8 million (£4.1 million). It features 109 rooms and the largest swimming pool in the United States, with a capacity of 350,000 gallons.

Even with 235 acres of property encircling his estate, the 47-year-old hip-hop entrepreneur is proud of the way his own lawn is kept up. Instead of battling the Georgia heat with gardening shears, Ross uses a specially designed  tractor that has tinted windows, air conditioning, and a radio.

The rapper explained the reasoning behind his hands-on style in an interview with Forbes, saying, “You know Holyfield spent $1 million a year to maintain the grass? When I acquired the Fayetteville estate, locals would see me coming out of a restaurant and scream, ‘You know what? I therefore made the decision to mow my own lawn. That’s precisely what I did.

“I went down to John Deere and asked to see the biggest, most efficient tractor,” Ross continued, narrating his experience of purchasing a tractor. When I told them I intended to keep my 200+ acres mowed, they indicated the appropriate tractor. That’s when I made the purchаse. I purchased the wider-cutting extended attachment for the back. I refilled the petrol tank after I arrived home.

Rick Ross: An Opulent Gardener?

Despite some early difficulties getting everything to function, Ross’s new hobby brought him comfort and serenity. For the rapper, landscaping has evolved from a simple need to a passionate hobby. He said, “Okay, so I might have spent two hours sitting in the same spot before I figured everything out, but once I did, I didn’t stop.” I spent roughly five hours cutting grass.

Taking up gardening on his own has allowed Ross to connect more deeply with his estate and the animals that live there, especially the horses. It’s become more than just a hobby. He finds happiness in the little things while reflecting on his accomplishments and tribulations while enjoying a rolled-up cannabis joint while seated in the tractor. Ross highlights the good effects of cutting his own grass on his life and invites others to enjoy the same “peaceful sensation” by doing the same.
