There are still talks going on between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United about Jadon Sancho’s potential. Sancho returned to PSG this summer after going on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
There isn’t a deal between PSG and United for Argentinian player Manuel Ugarte and a deal that could be made for Sancho.
According to RMC Sport, Sancho, who is 25, wants to join the Parisian club. However, United will only let him leave if PSG pay the £51 million price tag.
Last week, Erik Ten Hag revealed new ideas for the £77 million star. The Dutchman said that the England forward could play more centrally as a No. 9 in his front three.
“Of course Jadon can play as a striker,” Ten Hag said when asked about his role.
“He can also play down the wings, but he might be a good choice.”
Sancho has played in five of United’s first six preseason games. On Saturday, he came off the bench as United lost the FA Community Shield to Manchester City.
In the shootout that followed, Sancho took a penalty but missed it.
Ten Hag backed up his winger again, saying, “He’s a very good penalty taker, and I had and still have no doubts about letting him score a penalty.” He will also get in trouble in the future.
After a fight with the Dutchman, the player left the club in the middle of last season, but it looks like they have put their differences behind them.
Ten Hag had criticised Sancho for how hard he worked in training, which the winger didn’t like. He called the football coach out on social media, saying that he had lied, and then refused to apologise for what he said, which got him kicked out of the club.
He joined Dortmund in the middle of the 2023–24 season, but he has since come back to United.
“We talked a lot,” Ten Hag said about his friendship with Sancho. “Everyone can mess up.” That line should be drawn and the game should start again if the player thinks about it well.
There is no doubt that Jadon Sancho is a very good player, and the club needs them. I really hope that the click will happen at some point and help us succeed.
Also, United has been trying to make a deal to get Ugarte from PSG but has not been willing to pay the £52m price tag that the French club has set.
United announced today that they have signed Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, their third and fourth players of the transfer window. The two players cost £60 million each. That’s three new players for United this summer; they join Joshua Zirkzee and Lenny Yoro. United spent about £149 million on them.
