At the San Diego, California’s Snapfradon Stadium, Manchester United defeated Real Betis 3-2. These are our rankings for the players from the exhibition match.
Tom Heaton 4 – Made a massive error for Betis’ opening goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 5 – Got forward a few times but didn’t offer much when he did.

Harry Maguire 6 – Wasn’t required to do much defending. Kept it simple, passing was good.
Victor Lindelof 6 – Similar to Maguire.
Harry Amass 8 – Superb half. Was brilliant defensively and looked a threat when he advanced. Produced a stunning assist for Amad’s goal.
Casemiro 8 – Much better performance. Looked like the player United had in 2022/23. Passing was more refined and also got on the score sheet to give his side a two-goal lead. An unsung hero for United vs. Betis.
Christian Eriksen 7 – Controlled display from him. Pulled all the strings in the middle of the park
Scott McTominay 6 – Had two good chances in either half to find the back of the net but he failed to hit the target.
Amad Diallo 9 – Undoubtedly United’s best player. Was a constant pain in the backside of the Betis defenders. Won the penalty from which United restored parity and scored another sensational goal from Amass’ cross. Big season coming up for the Ivorian.
Jadon Sancho 6 – Had some nice touches and combinations in attack but didn’t really test the Betis goalkeeper.
Marcus Rashford 7 – Looked sharp and hungry before he had to come off with an injury. Assisted Casemiro from close range.
Substitutes
Will Fish 6 – Did his job and was mostly comfortable
Jonny Evans 6 – Similar to Fish
James Scanlon 7 – Some nice moments from Scanlon. Got forward well.
Sam Murray 6 – Decent
Maxi Oyedele 6 – Kept it simple
Toby Collyer 7 – Very good. Constantly snuffed out the danger for United
Hannibal Mejbri 5 – A bit underwhelming when he came on.
Mason Mount 7 – Was lively when he came on. Had a few chances to score but didn’t make any of his chances count.
Antony 5 – Didn’t do much. Was bizarrely substituted.
Ethan Wheatley 5 – Didn’t have much to work with.
Sam Mather 6 – Not enough time to have an impact.
