Haaland scored against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the 18th minute, as Man City began their quest for a fifth consecutive Premier League title .

Mateo Kovacic sealed a 2-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s side against his former club Chelsea in the 84th minute with a fine finish.

For Haaland, this is the 91st goal (with 15 assists) in the 100th match for Man City . An impressive number and Pep Guardiola has given many compliments to his favorite student. He declared that with this performance, Haaland has reached the same scoring level as Messi and Ronaldo.

“ In terms of numbers, Haaland is at the same level as Messi and Ronaldo, who have dominated football for the last 15 years. I don’t know how Haaland does it but scoring 91 goals in 100 games is unbelievable in the Premier League and in England .”

The Man City captain added that the long break this summer (due to Norway not qualifying for EURO 2024) has brought a Haaland into the new season more energetic than the same time last year.

“ I feel he is healthier than at the same time last year. After the break last season, Haaland only felt okay, still a bit tired. This season, unfortunately Norway missed EURO 2024 and he had a long break. So Haaland feels very fit.”

However, Pep Guardiola feels that Haaland can still be better: “Haaland’s goal was great. He contributed a lot. Haaland had 2-3 more chances and I feel that he still has room for improvement .”
