Meet the king bird of paradise
The king bird of paradise (Cicinnurus regius) is a passerine bird of the Paradisaeidae (bird of paradise) family.
>He also has a black spot above each eye.
In comparison, the female is much less bright, with an olive-brown back, head and throat and a variegated buff breast.
These birds are endemic and quite common in Papua New Guinea and many of the country’s western satellite islands.
The king bird of paradise likes to live in lowland tropical forests, gallery forests, along forest edges, as well as in tall, disturbed secondary forests.
>Being frugivorous, the king bird of paradise feeds mainly on fruits and arthropods.
>Real birds of paradise are polygamous, meaning that after mating the males will attract the next female.
