Greenwood, 22, has been spotted at the training ground as he returned from his loan spell at Getafe.

The attacker is believed to be wanted by Marseille, and the club would be willing to let him leave on a loan with an obligation to buy.

He wants to know what his long-term plans are before the 2024–2025 season begins.

Van Nistelrooy, a former player, has started a new role at the team, and one new face has been noticed.

The Dutchman, who took a year off from football, has rejoined Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff.

Marcus Rashford has also reported for duty, having not been taken to Euro 2024 by Gareth Southgate.

The forward was snubbed for the final squad for the tournament after a poor season.
