Hi everyone, I’m Katrina. Your view of history is about to change. Ancient Romans stealing treasures, witnessing dinosaurs, and lost civilizations are just some of the things we’ll be exploring together in today’s video. Here are some of the most shocking forbidden mysteries from Africa: (video below)
The Giant Footprint
Did giants walk the Earth in Africa 200 million years ago? That’s what the evidence seems to suggest. In South Africa, a 200-million-year-old giant footprint was discovered, sparking intrigue among experts about what or who could have left it behind. It is far too large for an ordinary human and looks exactly like a massive human foot.
The giant footprint was allegedly discovered in 1912 by a hunter named Staul Koty while he was exploring a remote area in South Africa known as Umuzi, near the border with Swaziland. The footprint measures nearly 5 feet in length from heel to toe, as long as the height of some people. For over a century, it has perplexed geologists and left many astonished.
Professor Peter Vagner of Nelson Mandela University believes the footprint is more likely evidence of a “Smaller Blue People” than a result of natural erosion. Prof. Vagner holds master’s degrees in chemistry, physics, mathematics, law, a PhD in applied mathematics, and another in human rights and labor law. Together with other researchers, he estimates the footprint could date from 200 million to 3 billion years based on our understanding of granite formation in Earth’s history.
Here is a photo of the footprint next to South African scientist and explorer Michael Tellinger and another next to American Professor Robert Schoch from Boston University. As shown, the footprint is genuine and enormous. According to Tellinger, whoever left it must have been about 24 feet tall. What’s your explanation?
Michael Tellinger argues it is evidence of extraterrestrial giants who lived here long before humanity. Known as South Africa’s Indiana Jones for his exploits, he has dedicated much of his life to uncovering Africa’s hidden secrets.
Robert Schoch, another scientist, has been investigating African mysteries since the early 1990s. He co-authored a report on the Sphinx Water Erosion Hypothesis, suggesting that the Sphinx is far older than mainstream science claims, shaped by ancient flooding or rainfall around 11,500 years ago.
The Deadly Nandi Bear
Could a legendary creature lurk deep in East Africa? Known as the Nandi Bear, it’s said to be a fierce beast named after the Nandi people of western Kenya. If it exists, it’s unlike any bear you’ve seen, with reddish fur and a reputation for skinning humans. Recent sightings date as far back as 1905, described by British soldier and ornithologist Richard Miner Sagen as a near-extinct humanoid ape species.
In 1913, Charles William Poy, a British colonial administrator, sketched the creature’s footprint, and American author Gardner Soul reported sightings throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. Yet, no Nandi Bear has been captured. Most scientists attribute sightings to misidentifications, perhaps mistaking an ambiguous herbivore for a red-furred predator. But what if the legend was a glimpse of a massive bear or an extinct chalicothere?
In 1923, British paleontologist Charles Andrew theorized the Nandi Bear could be a surviving chalicothere. This bizarre creature resembled a horse but had claws, shorter necks, and forelimbs longer than its hind ones, akin to gorillas and giant sloths. Though thought extinct for 9 million years, rediscovering it today would rival finding Bigfoot.
The British Museum of Natural History declared in 1932 that the Nandi Bear was a spotted hyena—explaining the tales of violent attacks and skinning—but the debate continues.
Africa’s Ancient Nuclear Reactor
Africa houses a 2-billion-year-old nuclear reactor. Keep your shock in check—things only get weirder. Either a technologically advanced ancient race built it, or nature crafted this marvel itself. Either way, the story is astounding.
In 1972, French scientists studying uranium ore mined in Gabon, Africa, made a startling discovery: the ore contained an unusually low amount of Uranium-235, the isotope that undergoes nuclear fission to release energy. This anomaly hinted at an ancient, self-sustaining nuclear reaction—a truly mind-bending mystery.
