MASON GREENWOOD issued a 52-word statement about his future after Getafe fans implored him to stay with a new chant.
The 22-year-old Manchester United forward has spent the season on loan at the Spanish club.
Mason Greenwood delivered a statement on his future following Getafe’s final league game. Fans screamed Greenwood’s name after Getafe’s 2-1 home defeat against Mallorca.
He also played the complete 90 minutes when Getafe lost 2-1 at home to Mallorca in the last LaLiga match of the season.
Greenwood’s future is uncertain as he enters the final year of his United contract.
However, the forward delivered a message to fans by posting a statement on social media.
It read: “I’m really grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an incredible season.
“Thank you for making me feel welcome and part of your family. I liked every moment with my teammates and club.
“A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best.”
Meanwhile, fans devised a new chant for Greenwood in what could be his final outing for Getafe.
They chanted “Mason, stay” during Getafe’s lap of honour at the end of the Mallorca game.

Greenwood responded to their chants with a thumbs up.
Fans in the grandstand recognized him in his No. 12 shirt and attempted to attract his attention before he headed down the tunnel.
Angel Torres, the president of Getafe, has also expressed a wish to maintain the United loanee beyond this season.
Despite their demands for him to stay in Spain, Greenwood’s football future remains uncertain.
He finished the season with 36 appearances and eleven goals across all competitions for Getafe.

There have since been linked to Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Napoli.
But Getafe’s chances of securing another loan move are minimal, with United eager to cash in on the former England star before his contract expires.

Greenwood had several chances before his team took the lead on 48 minutes through Gaston Alvarez.
However, they were defeated by two last-minute goals from Vedat Muriqi and Pablo Maffeo.
Greenwood said of being named Getafe’s Player of the Month in April: “It’s been an incredible experience. I’m delighted I played for Getafe. “It’s an excellent league.”
