Cardi B opens Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2022 with Mugler exhibition

Designer Thierry Mugler presented the exhibition Thierry Mugler, Couturissime at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs on September 28. Cardi B, who wore the designer’s scalloped dress to the 2019 Grammy Awards, was a guest of honor at Mugler.

On the red carpet for the opening of Thierry Mugler’s Couturissime exhibition , Cardi B appeared in a red sequined dress that hugged her body. She wore it with a feathered cape that, when raised, looked like a halo around her. This is a vintage design from the French couture house’s Fall/Winter 1994 season.

Then she changed into another outfit also from Mugler.

At the same Mugler party, Cardi B changed outfits. Her second design of the night was also a vintage item from the fashion house Mugler.

The event marked Cardi B’s first red carpet appearance since giving birth to her second child with husband Offset.

Cardi B rocks the streets of Paris in surreal Schiaparelli outfit

Mugler’s previous two designs were evening gowns, which, while strange, were understandable since they were red carpet outfits for an art exhibition. But when she hit the streets of Paris, Cardi B continued to choose equally strange outfits.

On August 29, Cardi B walked around Paris in a surreal design by French fashion house Schiaparelli. The blazer with a metal chest patch was created by creative director Daniel Roseberry. The metal headpiece-glasses were designed by Stephen Jones for Schiaparelli. She wore jewelry with shifty eyes on her arms and chest.

Cardi B’s stylist, Kollin Carter, jokingly called this outfit “a rich old lady from Mars.”

But of course, if Schiaparelli is going to sell ready-to-wear, it has to have something more wearable. Cardi B chose a simpler Schiaparelli look next. The double-breasted coat had gold accents. She wore it over a simple black bodysuit. On her head, she wore a French beret.

Typically, clients will wear a brand’s outfit when they come to work with them, to show respect for the brand. But Cardi B chose a Richard Quinn outfit, Rick Owens boots, and Jaupin glasses. The outfit is very goth/punk, but very sexy in Cardi B’s style.

Cardi B meets Christian Louboutin at Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2022

The singer is a fan of the king of red soles. She went to dinner with him wearing a black turtleneck and a tiger-print skirt with leopard print on the outside and inside. “Great conversations, good food, good friends. I had dinner with a fashion icon!”, she wrote excitedly on Instagram.

At the end of Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022, Christian Louboutin gifted Cardi B a pair of feathered yellow heels. “You know, we were talking about carnival, and now he’s giving me a pair of shoes that remind me of that dinner. It’s so cool,” the rapper gushed, then hugged them like a baby.

On the red carpet of the event, Cardi B wore a trench coat and wide-brimmed hat from the Balenciaga Haute Couture Fall Winter 2021 collection. The design was conceptualized by stylist Kollin Carter and Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia.

Paris Fashion Week Ends With Richard Quinn

For her final day in Paris, Cardi B stepped out in a colorful Richard Quinn look. The designer also designed Cardi B’s full-face floral dress in Paris two years ago. And she once again chose Richard Quinn to end her dramatic Paris trip this year.

The two designs Cardi B chose were both from the Richard Quinn Spring Summer 2022 collection that was recently shown at Paris Fashion Week. They were solid-colored jumpsuits that covered her from neck to toe, and even covered her shoes!

Maybe they’re only suitable for wearing indoors, not outdoors, or they’ll get dirty quickly, right? And yet Cardi B wore this leg-covering jumpsuit to see the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, which was covered in fabric – a work by Christo and Jeanne–Claude. She looked like a strange flower because she wore it as a baby’s nightgown.

Immediately, Cardi B’s image sparked a series of memes, comparing her to a green frog or even the Teletubbies on the American children’s channel.
