David Beckham has bought his son Brooklyn a $500,000 (ÂŁ383,502) car following his eldest childâs wedding to Nicola Peltz on Saturday (9 April).
While it might seem excessive, Davidâs half-a-mill prezzie in the wake of his sonâs ÂŁ3million Florida nuptials is probably the Beckham version of the ÂŁ50 M&S voucher most people get off their parents after tying the knot.

David Beckham gave car restoration company Lunaz â with whom he holds a 10 percent stake â a valuable assist by using one of their classic vehicles ahead of son Brooklynâs Miami wedding

The electrified and re-engineered 1954 Jaguar XK140, worth $500,000 (ÂŁ383,502), was later driven by Brooklyn and his bride, the American actress Nicola Peltz

The wedding gift is a 1954 Jaguar XK140 that David had re-engineered and electrified for his son and daughter-in-law, and the newly-weds wasted no time taking their new set of wheels for a spin.
Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, were seen in new photos cruising around the ÂŁ71million Palm Beach estate owned by the Transformers actorsâ parents on Sunday morning.
David enlisted the help of restoration company Lunaz â in which he has a 10 percent stake â for the swish carâs revamp.
Thousands of hours of work went into Brooklyn and Nicolaâs new whip, which was built in-house at Lunazâs Silverstone garage.
A team of 120 worked on the project and David asked that the finishing product be painted a light shade of blue, but as MailOnline reports â ârequested his name for the unique colour remain confidentialâ.
Of the project, David Lorenz, Founder & CEO of Lunaz, told Auto Futures: âIn creating this beautiful, electrified Jaguar XK140, we are honoured to bridge the gap between David Beckhamâs professional life, where he is an investor in Lunaz and his family life.
âThis remarkable car is the perfect gift to his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law, on their wedding day. In every respect, this extraordinary electric classic car by Lunaz symbolises a bright, positive future.â

It follows reports that David reportedly âshed a tearâ when delivering an emotional speech at Brooklyn and Nicolaâs wedding, although if photos of that beautiful Jag are anything to go by, he might have just been distraught that he had to hand the motor over and couldnât keep it for himself.
Brooklyn and Nicola exchanged vows at the Peltzâ ÂŁ76 million oceanfront estate and according to The Sun, footballing superstar David couldnât hold back his tears.
An insider said: âDavidâs speech went on for about five minutes and he looked to shed a tear at one point.
âHe was talking about when Brooklyn was born and how he wanted to protect him.
âHe said he was sleeping on the hospital floor, holding the door shut because he didnât want to let anyone get in.
âDavid got a lump in his throat and had to stop and take a breather to regain his composure, but it was a very sweet speech.â
