The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially re-signed versatile player Kiké Hernández for the 2025 season. The one-year, $6.5 million contract was announced on February 11, 2025, after Hernández himself confirmed his return through a social media video with the caption: “Walking through the open door!”
To make room for Hernández on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers placed right-handed pitcher Gavin Stone on the 60-day injured list.
Hernández, 33, had a notable 2024 season with the Dodgers, playing seven different positions across 126 games. He posted a .229 batting average with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs during the regular season and improved his performance to a .294 average with two home runs in 14 playoff games, playing a key role in helping the Dodgers secure the World Series title.
Hernández’s return is expected to strengthen the Dodgers’ depth and versatility as they aim to defend their World Series championship in the upcoming season.
