This week’s Friday Night SmackDown episode was not only the first of the season, but also the show’s return to the USA Network. That means WWE pulled out all the stops, including opening with a no-promo steel cage match for the WWE Championship. Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa in that match, but found himself attacked by The Bloodline shortly afterward.

And that’s when Roman Reigns returned.

OTC evened the playing field, teasing a big showdown with Jacob Fatu, but in the end, we were left with a tease of a bigger match to come. We found out that Sikoa went to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and asked for a tag team match at the upcoming Bad Blood premium live event, which is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Atlanta — The Bloodline vs. Reigns & Rhodes.

The two babyfaces initially resisted signing the deal but after another scuffle with Sikoa’s group, they agreed to team up, no matter how difficult the alliance would be.
