More than eight months after Katt Williams’ explosive 2024-tone-setting “Club Shay Shay” interview, Kevin Hart finally speaks out about being one (of many) of Williams’ targets and his reaction to it.

Hart appeared on Charlamagne Tha God’s “Out of Context” show to admit that he regrets ever responding to Williams’ comments. The host asked Hart directly about Williams’ comments on the podcast and what exactly started the beef between the two, to which hr replied, “I think there’s probably one moment where I’ve talked about Katt publicly.”

“We were promoting ‘Night School,’ and Tiffany [Haddish] was affected by some of the things he said,” he explained. “It was more of a, like, support for her in that moment and some shots at him.”

When asked if he regretted those comments, Hart said, “Yeah, I should never address him, at all. I don’t have to. Like, why? What will it do for me? What will I gain? There’s no gain.”

Hart added that he likes to look at things from a “business and economic” lens: “If I’m investing in something, what is my return? … If I can’t answer that question… then it doesn’t get energy.”’

Hart answersed various questions from Charlamagne in the wide-ranging interview, covering topics like his journey in comedy to date, the idea of him being an “industry plant” and more, as Complex reported. Check out the full interview below:

As The Root previously reported, Williams’ scorched-earth appearance on Club Shay Shay had everyone talking when it happened. During the interview, Williams said, “For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did” was a film that had been on “his desk.”
