NEWS: Giannis Antetokounmpo Floated As “Dream” Player For Warriors In 2025 Free Agency. – VC

Since joining the NBA in the 2013–14 season, Giannis Antetokounmpo has established himself as a cornerstone for the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite recently signing a contract extension that will keep him with the Bucks through the 2027–28 season, speculation about his future remains prevalent.

Sam Amick of The Athletic recently fueled this speculation by discussing Antetokounmpo’s potential future with the Golden State Warriors. On a recent episode of “The TK Show” podcast, Amick revealed that the Warriors have long coveted the star player. He stated, “One that I think is just always gonna be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the Bucks. We know that Joe Lacob has had dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors’ way for a very long time. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is gonna be a free agent next summer. I think Giannis is worth monitoring.”

The Warriors are currently in transition following the loss of veteran star Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks. While they have added players like Kyle Anderson and Buddy Hield, the team is still on the lookout for additional talent to complement Stephen Curry. There are even rumors suggesting that the Warriors might target Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in the 2025 free agency.

In addition to the speculation about Antetokounmpo’s future, there has been some controversy regarding his position in the league. Despite an outstanding season where Antetokounmpo became the first player in NBA history to average over 30 points per game while shooting 60% from the field, he was notably absent from Patrick Beverley’s list of top five power forwards. Beverley argued that Antetokounmpo is not a true power forward, placing him instead in the “positionless basketball” category alongside players like LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

As the 2024-25 NBA season approaches, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are gearing up for their upcoming game against the Detroit Pistons. Meanwhile, the Warriors and their fans will be keeping a close eye on the future, wondering if a chance to add Antetokounmpo to their roster could become a reality.

Overall, while Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential move to the Golden State Warriors remains speculative, the possibility continues to generate significant buzz and excitement among NBA fans and analysts alike.
