Lionel Messi and Aitana Bonmati won the respective male and female Ballon d’Or’s on Monday – and both were dressed for the occasions, others at the event not so much

Footballers aren’t exactly known for their fashion choices – but for a black tie event like the Ballon d’Or you’d expect the outfits to be quite similar.

However, that’s not always the case. Jude Bellingham has been stealing the show for all the right reasons in Madrid, but he might need to add in some fashion practice alongside all those shooting drills.

The same can be said for Vinicius Jr, who was also present in Paris for the awards, and his red silk blazer. However, at least Bellingham and Vinicius Jr were rocking bow-ties, we’re looking at you IShowSpeed.

Then again, Speed is wearing a shirt – Djibril Cisse, on the other hand, was not. Cisse rocked up to the event in a white blazer, white trousers, and some bright blue hair.

And so without any further ado, Daily Star Sport looks at some of the wildest fashion choices at the 2023 Ballon d’Or.

Jude Bellingham won the Raymond Kopa award as the world’s best young player. However, he was lucky he didn’t trip up the steps in those trousers – but he does get extra points for the double breasted blazer.

Vinicius Jr certainly stood out from the crowd in his red satin blazer – at least someone had told him to match his shoes and belt…

Real Madrid tars Vinicius Junior has won the Socrates Award at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.

Compared by some to a parachute, others couldn’t get their head around Bellingham choice of suit trouser which was paired with a smart double breasted jacket and a bow tie.

One social media user wrote: “Why is Bellingham wearing a parachute to the awards.”

A second added: “Bellingham’s stylist needs to be sacked the way bro’s trousers are looking.”

A third agreed: “Bellingham is a true Englishman what are those trousers.” A fourth posted: “Bellingham’s still borrowing his dad’s trousers.”
