Jake Paul has confirmed that he does not have a backup opponent in case Mike Tyson has to pull out of their rescheduled fight. Originally scheduled for July, their fight was postponed to November following Tyson’s medical emergency on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

With reports that Tyson’s health is improving, Paul remains confident that the fight will go ahead as planned. Paul expressed his lack of concern for Tyson’s well-being, stating: “I don’t have any concerns. He’s doing great. He’s super healthy behind the scenes and he feels great.”

Paul, 27, is set to earn a whopping $40 million for the fight, but he made it clear that his focus is solely on financial gain and knocking out the legendary Tyson. “I didn’t bring him here to do anything; I’m here to make $40 million and knock out a legend,” Paul said. “I don’t care about anything else.”

He added: “You’ll see it on his record; Jake Paul knocks out Mike Tyson; I’m not here to do anything but make money.”

Paul’s confidence is evident as he dismissed any concerns about the fight, emphasising his aim to secure a significant payday. “Every time boxers sit across from me and say ‘YouTuber this and Disney kid that’ and end up on the canvas… this is not going to be any different,” he said.

Tyson, 58, is also expected to earn a substantial sum, but has stated that his return to the ring is driven by the pursuit of glory rather than financial reward. Speaking to Esquire, Tyson said: “I’m a glory junkie. I love people thinking about me all day long. I’d rather live a short life of glory than a long life of obscurity.”

She further explained: “This is all I started fighting for: to get all this damn status. I’m going to chase it for the rest of my life. I know that. I’m never going to get what I want, because I’m one of those gluttons for pain. I can never get enough.”
