“I’m in the perfect situation for me,” Humphrey said, “playing in a place that I get to call home and it’s been awesome to call home. I’ve enjoyed it and getting the opportunity is awesome. The whole situation is perfect for me, so I’m really happy to be here.”
The 25-year-old from Oklahoma is a two-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion. Reports of his contract said the deal includes $50 million guaranteed with contract details that could help Humphrey make as much as $72 million through the 2028 season.
“For me, it was just getting to a point where I’m comfortable,” he said Monday. “It worked out on both sides, and it was a good process. It worked out great, so I’m excited about it. For me, I’m glad that that’s out of the way — now I can focus all on football so it’s good.”
In signing the deal, Humphrey joined kicker Harrison Butker, defensive tackle Chris Jones and tight end Travis Kelce as Chiefs who are the highest paid at their position in the league.
