In September 2023, Antony was accused of assault and domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. Accordingly, the Brazilian DJ accused Antony of assaulting her four times, including once in June 2022 when she was pregnant.

The scandal broke out, and Antony was accused of similar crimes by two other women. One of them later withdrew her complaint, but that still did not help the £86 million MU winger avoid trouble.
Antony has so far denied all of the above allegations. There was a period when the player had to return to his hometown to answer police questions. Antony last started in the Premier League in December last year, in a 1-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Since then, the former Ajax player has rarely been trusted by coach Ten Hag to give him a chance.
With a series of scandals and a low form at MU, experts believe that Antony will not be called up by the Brazilian team to attend the upcoming Copa America 2024 finals . The last time this player wore the “Selecao” shirt was in September 2023.
