Well, one of them is the Bay Area’s very own veteran star, Draymond Green. However, it did not take long for him to catch a stray after NBA’s president, Adam Silver, issued a stern warning. But there’s one more on the list who has a message for Green.
Green was entering the arena when he came face to face with a young kid. All cool, until? The Kid shot a video with Uncle Dray, “You know we here with Draymond Green. What’s Good? What’s Good?” The Kid said. But wait, it is not over yet. The Warriors superstar gave the kid a friendly push and said, “Don’t call me Draymond Green like you don’t know me.” As he headed to talk to someone else standing in the background. All friendly? The story is yet to unfold.
It was then the kid took a sarcastic jab at Draymond. The young lad got some courage. “Man, you can’t go on so long with all that. Stop getting so many goddamn fouls.” He said with a smirk on his face. He knew exactly what he was talking about as he took a hilarious jab at the big man. This video gained traction on social media, and the fans couldn’t help but laugh their hearts out at this interaction between the youngster and Green.
What makes this even more interesting is the timing of this joke. This comes just days after the 34-year-old revealed he received a rather unconventional warning from the league’s president. The Golden State forward seemingly has been warned for being “too aggressive“ by President Adam Silver. Well, he had something to say on the matter.
The NBA warns Draymond Green for playing too aggressively
Draymond Green, on the latest episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, revealed that he received an interesting warning from the league recently. “I got a warning apparently from the league the other day that the last few games I’ve been playing too aggressively, and that they’re warning me,” he stated. Draymond further added, “What does that mean? I don’t know. But apparently, me being in ‘Go Win’ mode is a problem.”
Green was left scratching his head after the league told this to him. And why not? He couldn’t help but wonder what playing ‘too aggressive’ meant. However, the Warriors player is no stranger to some aggressive actions on the court. Officials have penalized Green for his actions several times. The league suspended him six times over his career for various encounters. One such instance was when he hit Jusuf Nurkic in the face. Playing against the big man comes with risk!
Also, this season, he was ejected from a game against Memphis, where he even tripped rookie Zach Edey. So, the warning might have been loading for some time for the Warriors star. Whether he’ll learn from this warning or not remains to be seen, as Green is all fired up after the Butler trade. He and the Warriors aim to take another shot at the championship.
