Country music singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson was arrested on November 17, 2024,

in Williamson County, Tennessee, for alleged marijuana possession and speeding.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that Johnson was pulled over for driving 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. During the stop, officers allegedly found several Ziploc bags of marijuana and pre-rolled joints in his vehicle. He was charged with violating a Tennessee law that prohibits possession of between half an ounce and 10 ounces of marijuana, classified as a Class E felony. If convicted, Johnson could face one to six years in prison and fines up to $5,000. Additionally, he was charged with a Class C misdemeanor for speeding, which carries a potential fine of up to $200.
